Pants
Stay warm, dry and visibly with high-visibility, waterproof quilted bib pants from Pioneer. Perfect for construction workers in high-traffic areas and other applications where staying visible, warm and dry is a must.
Using High-Visibility Pants to Increase Worker Safety
According to OHS Canada — Canada’s leading Occupational Health and Safety Magazine — high-visibility reflective stripes on the arms and legs of workers play a key role in helping viewers detect movement and enabling them to recognize a human being at work. While high-visibility safety apparel — or HVSA — comes in jackets, shirts and vests, workers have maximum coverage and give the human eye the full visual cues it needs only when they combine hi-vis clothing on the upper body with high-visibility pants.
To pass as high-vis work pants, a piece of clothing must meet CSA Standard Z96-15 for HVSA — which, of course, all of the pants available from Construction Fasteners and Tools do. Our hi-viz pants are compliant with CSA standards, and they’re also some of the best-constructed work pants you can find, with premium adjustable suspenders equipped with quick-release clips, large cargo pockets and an elastic waist for comfort.
High-Vis Pants From Construction Fasteners and Tools
Being visible to drivers, equipment operators and others on or near the jobsite is crucial to your safety while working. Whether you work in highway construction, utility repairs, airport baggage handling, energy exploration, forestry work, mining operations or any other activity where you’re in close proximity to moving machinery and heavy equipment, choosing the right hi-viz apparel often comes down to selecting the right high-vis pants to complement a jacket, shirt or vest.
CSA standards further classify high-vis clothing into three separate classes according to the level of coverage and visibility supplied by the HVSA. The three classes follow:
- Class 1 gives the wearer the minimum amount of coverage required in order to be recognized as a piece of hi-viz gear.
- Class 2 offers wearers moderate body coverage in combination with a superior level of visibility.
- Class 3 apparel is rated to give workers the greatest amount of both visibility and coverage, enabling them to be visible at a distance in poorly lit conditions.
We carry a full inventory of Pioneer 100% waterproof quilted hi-viz overalls in your choice of fluorescent orange or yellow — as well as black — with StarTechTM double-stitched reflective tape. These pants are considered Class 2 HVSA, and when worn with a Class 2 hi-viz jacket, their rating rises to Class 3.
Of course, proper fit and ease of mobility are crucial to the regular wearing of hi-viz pants, which is why we stock them in sizes ranging from small to XXXXXL. In addition, our hi-viz pants are double-stitched for durability and come with 20” boot access with 2-way leg zippers and snap storm covers for maximum protection and accessibility.
