Mag Chucks

Mag Chucks

A mag chuck — also called a nut setter or nut driver — fastens metal and self-tapping screws in place. Since this design drives the fastener on the edges without putting pressure on the corners, using a mag chuck reduces the likelihood of fastener corner damage and stripping. The socket is attached to a shaft, which is generally hollow to accommodate the shank the nut is threaded to.

Construction Fasteners and Tools has many mag chucks for sale online. Our mag chucks are available in various lengths and sizes to suit the fasteners your project requires.

Our Mag Chucks for Sale

Construction Fasteners and Tools has mag chucks from Milwaukee Tool, Boschâ„¢, IRWIN® and more. Get a single mag chuck or a mag chuck set in any of these options:

  • Regular mag chuck: Also called a hex nut setter, a mag chuck drives fasteners into a material by driving on the corners. Many of our regular mag chucks are CFT-Approved.
  • Impact mag chuck: Impact mag chucks are designed to withstand the torque from impact drivers and cordless drills. Our Boschâ„¢ ITNS14 impact mag chuck delivers torque and power with less cam-out.
  • Hollow shank power nut driver: Hollow shank nut drivers are manual tools used in low-torque applications requiring precision and control. Our inventory includes options 3 to 12 inches long to fit your application.
  • Magnetic nut driver: Magnetic nut drivers use a high-strength magnet to hold the fastener in place more securely than standard mag chucks. The Milwaukee® 49-66-4505 SHOCKWAVEâ„¢ magnetic nut driver grips the fastener securely to improve bit engagement.

Besides mag chucks, we also have magnetizer/demagnetizer tools. This product magnetizes screwdrivers and bits to hold your fasteners securely until you are ready to drive them. You can then demagnetize the bit later to prevent metal shavings or debris from sticking to it. Our Klein MAG2 magnetizer/demagnetizer uses rare earth magnets and fits most screwdrivers.

Applications for Mag Chucks

Mag chucks are used on impact drivers or other power tools to drive lag screws or bolts. They are designed to withstand the high torque impact drivers deliver. Since mag chucks have a socket attached to a shaft, you can use these tools to tighten nuts and bolts. Mag chucks with magnets even hold the fastener for you, freeing up your hands.

You can use a mag chuck in any application requiring an impact driver, such as driving in many fasteners quickly. Impact drivers tighten fasteners quicker than other power tools, so using one alongside a mag chuck to hold the fasteners in place will save even more time.
