Spade Bits

Spade bits — also called flat boring bits — are used to bore small holes in wood, plastic and other materials. The drill point helps keep the bit aligned, and the cutting edges remove stock to keep the hole clean. Spade bits typically drill to 6 inches, and this depth can be added to with the use of an extension. 16-inch bits are also available.
