Choosing Air Tools and Accessories
To use an air tool successfully you need a compressor powerful enough to run it. All air tools require a certain level of pressure (PSI) and flow (CFM).
A typical Makita roofing nailer will require 70-90 PSI of pressure and 2-4 CFM of airflow. A 4-gallon capacity air compressor that provides 3.7 CFM at 90 PSI would be a good match on this case.

- Air compressors and hoses: Air compressors are required for powering any air tool. The Campbell Hausfeld 4-gallon is a popular seller for residential roofing applications. So is the highly portable DeWalt trim compressor. We also carry products by Makita, Rolair, DeWalt and other manufacturers, including units that can drive multiple tools at once. Want a complete solution for roofing or construction work? The Makita MAC700 package includes an 18 gauge nailer, a 2 HP compressor, a 25-foot hose and all necessary fittings and accessories.
